Hello Elders,
Hope you all enjoyed conference. It was very memorable and so amazing to sustain our new Prophet, Thomas S. Monson. This week the lesson will be chapter 6 from the Joseph Smith Manual taught by Brother Bryan Melick. Here's the link for your reading enjoyment: http://lds.org/ldsorg/v/index.jsp?vgnextoid=da135f74db46c010VgnVCM1000004d82620aRCRD&locale=0&sourceId=da49b00367c45110VgnVCM100000176f620a____&hideNav=1&contentLocale=0
But, before Bryan gets started we will be hearing from our committee chairmen Ken Danley, Steve Sheckman and Steve Wagner. They will lead a discussion about some of the exciting things our quorum will do this quarter. We will also hold a short council on some of your favorite conference topics and the principle of sustaining.
The spiritual thought for this week comes from the lesson: "The coming of John the Baptist was a significant event in the life of the Prophet Joseph Smith and in the progress of God’s kingdom on earth. Although Joseph Smith had seen God the Father and Jesus Christ, had been visited by heavenly messengers, and had received the gold plates and the ability to translate them, he had not yet been given the authority and power of the priesthood. Now Aaronic Priesthood power had been restored to earth, and the power of the Melchizedek Priesthood would soon be restored. Joseph Smith had become a legal administrator in God’s kingdom."
We love you all and look forward to our quorum meeting tomorrow.
