Summer BBQ's

Hello elders! Hope everyone is having a great summer! It's getting time for the kids to go back to school or for some of us, the fall semester of college is coming up very quickly.

We had announced a BBQ on July 26th, but there is a ward activity that night at 5pm at Chisholm's Park. Our BBQ has been moved to August 8th, at 5pm at the Munns Ranch.

This week, Sam will be teaching our lesson, and it will be from the first presidency message from July, entitled: Heeding the Voice of the Prophets. Please find the time to read over this if you haven't already.

You can read it at the church's web site: http://www.lds.org/ldsorg/v/index.jsp?vgnextoid=f318118dd536c010VgnVCM1000004d82620aRCRD&locale=0&sourceId=4ec1556975cba110VgnVCM100000176f620a____&hideNav=true

Our council question this week is regarding our home teaching. Think about the different kinds of families that you home teach. The question is: How would you present the first presidency message to your home teaching families?

Our spiritual thought from the lesson is this: "Are we following the inspired counsel of the prophets?"

We love you and are thankful for everything you do to make our quorum stronger!

Hello Elders!

Hope everyone is having a great summer. A lot of great things are happening in our quorum and there are some new faces that we are glad to see. We also want to welcome Steve Wagner as the new secretary in our presidency.

This week we will be pleased to hear from Brother Prather as he teaches lesson #13 from the Joseph Smith manual. Here is the link and please find time to read this great material before our Sunday meeting: http://lds.org/ldsorg/v/index.jsp?vgnextoid=da135f74db46c010VgnVCM1000004d82620aRCRD&locale=0&sourceId=e98720596a845110VgnVCM100000176f620a____&hideNav=1&contentLocale=0

Our council question will focus on the doctrine of obedience. We want you to think about someone who has exemplified obedience in your life and tell us about him or her. The question is: Who in your life do you look up to as a role model of obedience and what attributes do you want to duplicate in your own life?

Our spiritual thought comes from the lesson as well: “No month ever found me more busily engaged than November; but as my life consisted of activity and unyielding exertions, I made this my rule: When the Lord commands, do it.” - Joseph Smith

We love you all and look forward to seeing you in quorum on Sunday.
